Schuldig was brought up in a number of Estet's private schools until he was finally assigned to Schwarz under Brad Crawford's command when he was seventeen. Legally known as Sebastian Reiner, he picked up the nickname, 'Schuldig,' at the schools, and has used it ever since as a sort of street handle. It fit, and the teachers even began to use it, as the telepath was almost more troublemaker than he was worth. Almost. Any talent that crossed his path, however, would soon learn by Estet bothered with putting up with his antics. They struggled to train him to their ways, and even now, would love more than anything to get him back under their thumb, even if they had to brainwash him.
It took several years before Crawford began to be able to rein Schuldig in, and even then, it took more than Estet could ever have given him. Trust and loyalty by the jaded telepath weren't earned easily, but Oracle is one of the few men who have been patient enough make that list. Farfarello was the third Schwarz member to appear, and he and Schuldig shared a similar enjoyment of chaos, often trying their leader until the fourth, and balancing force of the team appeared. Nagi managed to bind the three together, as each of them soon found themselves willing to protect the younger member and offer their own advice during his trying teenage years. He became like a younger brother to Schuldig and Farfarello, most especially Schuldig, and was Brad Crawford's prodigy, as his name hints.
Until the museum collapse, Schwarz worked for various employers through Estet Ð anything from murder and sabotage to bodyguard duty. The four men became close, growing as a family, especially in taking care of the youngest. As Crawford began to realize the potential of his team far outweighed anything Estet had, he began to see an avenue of escape from the organization. Killing the Elders was just the first step. From there, Schwarz struck out on their own, on the run from the organization that once supported them.
The early years of this separation have been tough. Estet still has more numbers, even if Schwarz is more powerful than any they have. They have more resources and better finances than the small team, and they are being hunted. In one ambush about two years ago, Schuldig allowed himself to be caught in order for the rest of Schwarz to get away. He spent the next three months at Estet's mercy, tortured and brainwashed as they attempted to find out where the rest of Schwarz had gone. He finally managed to escape near the end of three months, and not knowing where to go, made his way to the House, intent on hiding out under its magical shields until he could make contact with the rest of Schwarz.
Since then, Schwarz has been reunited and currently bases their operations from an uncharted island in the Aegean Sea. The island, much like the house, seems cloaked by magic, and there are only three entrances to the villa and facilities located there. The first is the portal by which it was found Ð a warp in space and time through a conference room on the House's third floor. It is because of this portal that it is believed the two locations are somehow linked in their manifestation. The second entrance is a portal from a warehouse in London, which only the four know about so far. Finally, the third is from an underground facility in the caves of the island, where many of their vehicles reside. A tunnel runs beneath the Aegean, surfacing on mainland Greece. Each of these entrances seems protected by a ward, but just for precaution, Crawford has bought the warehouse in London and garage in Greece that houses the entrances, keeping a security detail there at all times.
Schuldig, for his part, still keeps a room at both the House and the Villa, spending half of his time at each. The distance does wonderfully chaotic things to his sleep schedule, but as he's always had difficulty sleeping due to his telepathy, the situation is actually somewhat therapeutic. This is why he can often be found napping in the oddest places about the House.
The House has done other things to Schuldig as well, including softening his bloodlust and opening his trust and loyalty to another Ð not a member of Schwarz, but a man that he always enjoyed torturing. A member of Weiss. The antics and harassment he'd played on Ran had sometime, in the past year and a half, turned into something more. Since then, they've enjoyed somewhat of a sadistic, violent physical and emotional relationship. Ran's one of the main reasons he still keeps a room at the House.
