When the House rebirthed itself, Ran and Cye jointly agreed to become its keepers. They are both bonded to the House and share in the duties of keeping it up and keeping it safe. Ran splits his time equally between the House and the business he owns with Cye, Mouri-Fujimiya Ceramic and Floral. Omi and Beth conspired to buy the store and apartment for Ran and Cye, which is now their second home and a great source of pride for Ran. Despite their pasts, he has become extremely close to Schuldig, though he has trouble admitting it. Sex with both Schuldig and Crawford has become highly addictive, though he knows it is not good for him.

Past:
Ran has fought long and hard for the peace and happiness he enjoys now. Finding and falling in love with Cye began the opening of his heart, and once Cye started, he didn't stop until Ran couldn't stop feeling again. He turned and gave this same gift to Alucard, fighting to bring back his emotions and to free him from his duty to fight his father, Dracula, year after year. Cye and Alucard form the basis of his soul and his strength.

Through Alucard, Ran discovered that he was descended from the Belmont clan, a long line of vampire hunters thought to have disappeared from the world. When he claimed his Belmont birthright, the surge of power woke his sister, Aya. After some initial resistance, the two became as close as ever. With the love of his new extended family urging him on, Ran finally left Weiss, and with Omi's help, reinstated himself as a living person.

Not long after, while on an adventure, Alucard and Ran discovered that Ran's ancestor, Simon Belmont, had fathered more than one bloodline in Japan. With the help of the Shinigami, they found and rescued Ran's distant cousin Isamu, bringing another family member into the fold. Ran may be the heir to the Soulfire, but it lives in Aya and Isamu as well, binding them together.

Ran is slowly learning to forgive the past, as he develops ties with Schwarz. He is still torn, however: half of him wants to live a quiet, peaceful life with Cye at the flowershop, and half of him craves the exhilirating pain and adventure he knew with Weiss and Alucard. Finding the balance between them is something he still struggles with.
