Tucked happily in a three-way relationship with Squall and Zell, Irvine's never been happier. He's a marksmanship instructor at Balamb Garden and a full SeeD now, but the most important thing to him is keeping his boys happy.

Past:
Irvine was raised in an orphanage along with the rest of the "gang" from Balamb, but went to Galbadia, across the ocean, instead. When he met up with Squall, Zell and the others ten years later, none of them remembered him. That was a blow he didn't quickly recover from, and he vowed then not to rely on the memory-erasing Guardian Forces as heavily as his comrades did. Though eventually he helped everyone remember, Irvine lives in fear of forgetting the things most important to him.

After the Sorceress Ultimecia was defeated (at the end of the Final Fantasy 8 game), Irvine appeared twice in the House's billiards room while falling through Time Compression. He didn't know how or why he was there, but he developed a fun and light relationship with Cye and Ran, and Yohji. When he finally returned to Balamb, he fell head over heels in love with Squall. He helped where he could, getting closer to the Balamb-G commander, until he and Seifer Almasy were transported to the House, with no way back home.

Irvine developed a twisted and wrong relationship with Seifer, but when Squall and Zell showed up at the House, he was quickly dumped. However, Zell was there, wanting to help him through and show him that he was worth better than Seifer's treatment. Irvine fell in love, hard and fast. And once Seifer had gone insane, repudiated Squall and escaped back to Balamb, Irvine and Zell slowly convinced Squall to join them. After lots of love, patience, and extremely hot sex, the three of them expanded Squall's Balamb quarters and moved in together, to the approval of everyone at Balamb-G.
