Little is known about Brad Crawford's past. It is known by a few that he has family relations within Estet, which is how he got his position as Schwarz's leader in the first place. Not only did he turn against the organization when he left Estet and killed their leaders, but he turned against his family as well, choosing Schwarz over any blood relations.

He, like Schuldig, was brought up in the Estet schools, and even shared a year in the same establishment as Schuldig, though they never truly met (besides a chance encounter) until Schwarz was formed.

The man is both shrewd and secretive, and while in the past, he enjoyed games of lies and deceit to get his way, these days he's having to resort to more direct methods of politics. Slowly, he is working on building a network of contacts, clients, and resources that will help rival his power against Estet's. This includes having to work with Kritiker, and old enemy, in some respects.

Currently, he helps manage the finances of the House, and keeps an office and bedroom there for overnight stays. Most of his operations are out of the Villa, however, and he stays there more nights than not Ð else he is in other countries, seeing to his business deals.

As the team's prescient, he keeps a close eye on the other three. Farfarello has been assisting him on a number of projects with the underground societies of various nations, such as the Yakuza in Japan, and the mob in Italy and the US. He allows Nagi a free rein these days, trusting that he's raised the boy well. As Nagi is lovers with the current head of Kritiker, he uses the relationship to his advantage, and often sends him as a liaison between their groups. Schuldig, he watches less than the others, simply because the German is back and forth to Japan enough that he can't always keep track, but Schuldig also has a small side project to work on, and checks in frequently.
